I was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and came to Terre Haute, Indiana when I was five years old. I was adopted by Virginia M. Goodall, unfortunately, I never had a father figure in my life. This led to me spending most of my time in my upstairs bedroom listening to my RadioShack stereo with daisy chained stereo speakers for surround sound while jamming to Journey, Foreigner, Bob Seger, Aerosmith, and etc.
I graduated from North Vigo high school in 1987. I competed in country karaoke competitions, and then moved into some gospel bands. Around the time the Covid-19 pandemic hit and most things were shut down, I lost my wife of 30 years towards the end of the pandemic. Sadly, she had passed from kidney cancer I was her sole caretaker for so long, I had spent some time in deep grief.
My friend encouraged me to get back out there and start singing more music again, I connected back to my rock music roots. I started singing rock karaoke and that’s how I met the love of my life, Angie Vanoven who encouraged me whole heartedly, and my driving force to spin my world.
It was at that time a video of me singing “Don’t stop Believing” by Journey was posted on tik tok by one of the teaching assistants at the school where I worked. Journey and Steve Perry commented which made the views grow a lot more, a band had reached out to me offering a singing position and whilst practicing with that band my fiance, Angie, encouraged me to team up with another band.
Howie Mandel noticed the viral TikTok of my singing and said that I need to be on Americas Got Talent, and before you know it four months later I’m on a plane heading to Los Angeles. This is where I got my golden buzzer from Heidi Klum, advanced to quarter-finals and I was one of three that gets to advance to the semi-finals. Stay tuned!
